This a very easy dish.This is my mother-in-laws favorite dish and I always try to make it for her at least once when she comes to visit!Keeps her HAPPY!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork cut into large cubes. (may also use boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs large cubed or beef large cubed if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil or conola oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce, dark
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup 7-up
  • 3 - garlic cloves, smashed
  • 3 - stick green onion
  • 3 - bay leaves
  • 3 - star anise
  • 1 - white onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How To Make asian adobo or humba

  • Step 1
    Cook the Pork in 4 quart or larger pan in conola or olive oil until golden brown.Drain fat from the pan.
  • Step 2
    Add all remaining ingredients to the pan with the pork.
  • Step 3
    Cover tightly and let simmer over low/medium heat,until pork is tender (about 3 hours).
  • Step 4
    Turn of heat cover and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.Serve over your rice of choice or even noodles.
