I have been making this for 45 years. My husband loves them. I use Granny Smith with Honeycrisp apples, or what ever apples I have. Red and green mixed tastes so good and colorful. I usually like to use the jumbo all colors of raisins. They are the best. You also can coat the apples with a little bit of sugar, but my husband doesn't like it so sweet.
