Great fall recipe. Love to serve gravy over mashed potatoes. The recipe works well with any cut of pork.

1 inch think pork chops
2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
sage, dried
1/2 tsp
minced, dried garlic
1/2 tsp
ground allspice
1/2 tsp
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
dried thyme
1 medium
onion, thinly sliced
2 medium
apples, thinly sliced
1 c
apple juice
1 1/2 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil

How to Make Apple, Onion & Sage Pork Chops


  • 1Mix flour, all of the spices and salt. Reserve 1 tablespoon of seasoned flour mixture. Coat pork chops with remaining seasoning.
  • 2Cook pork chops in 2 tbs of oil in a large skillet on medium high heat until browned on both sides. Remove from skillet.
  • 3Add onion and cook until they start to caramelize. Add apple and cook with onion until apple is tender.
  • 4Add reserved flour mixture and brown sugar to juice mix until sugar and flour is disolved. Pour over apples and onions in skillet.
  • 5Return pork chops to the skillet, bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 30 minutes until pork is tender.
