Another great tasting pulled pork. I gave my slow cookers a work out over the weekend. Too darn hot to cook. Enjoy!

prep time 10 Min
cook time 5 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 4 - 6

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 - 5 pounds pork sirloin roast
  • salt - & pepper
  • SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger paste
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • salt - if needed

How To Make ~ another tasty pulled pork ~

  • Step 1
In a saucepan, saute onion until tender in oil. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients and simmer for 5 - 7 minutes. Set aside. Can do this before or after placing pork in slow cooker.
  • Step 2
Rinse and pat dry pork sirloin. Place in crock pot, salt and pepper. Add 1/2 CUP water. Cook on low for 8 hours or until tender. Drain any liquid. Remove the meat and let cool. Once cool enough to touch, using a couple forks, pull apart pork. Remove any fat or gristle. Return to pot and pour sauce over and toss to coat. Cook another hour on low. Serve as a side or on a nice crusty bun.
