amazing ham, green beans and new potatoes

This recipe is a result of taking a childhood favorite of mine and incorporating a seasoning from another recipe to create an amazing result. I can't stop eating this. I keep going back for more it's so good it's addicting!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds thick ham steak, cut into 1 inch cubes ( leftover ham is perfect )
  • 3 cans whole potatoes, quartered (you can use fresh potatoes, parboiled about 4 cups, cubed)
  • 4 cans green beans, drained
  • 3 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 stick butter, unsalted, melted
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/3 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon hickory smoke salt or liquid smoke

How To Make amazing ham, green beans and new potatoes

  • Step 1
    Mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, butter and garlic powder together till smooth. set aside.
  • Step 2
    Layer ham, green brans, potatoes and minced onion in crockpot.
  • Step 3
    Pour butter mixture over the ham and green beans. Toss gently to coat everything. Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours in a covered crock pot. Let cool enough to enjoy without burning your mouth if you can wait that long.
