Amazing Ham, Green Beans and New Potatoes

This recipe is a result of taking a childhood favorite of mine and incorporating a seasoning from another recipe to create an amazing result. I can't stop eating this. I keep going back for more it's so good it's addicting!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 1 1/2 lb
    thick ham steak, cut into 1 inch cubes ( leftover ham is perfect )
  • 3 can(s)
    whole potatoes, quartered (you can use fresh potatoes, parboiled about 4 cups, cubed)
  • 4 can(s)
    green beans, drained
  • 3 Tbsp
    dried minced onion
  • 1 stick
    butter, unsalted, melted
  • 1/3 c
    soy sauce
  • 1 1/3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    hickory smoke salt or liquid smoke

How to Make Amazing Ham, Green Beans and New Potatoes


  1. Mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, butter and garlic powder together till smooth. set aside.
  2. Layer ham, green brans, potatoes and minced onion in crockpot.
  3. Pour butter mixture over the ham and green beans. Toss gently to coat everything. Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours in a covered crock pot. Let cool enough to enjoy without burning your mouth if you can wait that long.
