10 minute italian sausage sandwich !

Fast Food At HOME!!! This is simple, easy and soooooo goood!!! You can make this at home in the time it takes to wait in line at a drive though restaurant or to be handed a menu in a sit down place! Our family loves this! And.... we have done these up on the grill to add another layer of flavor...

yield At least 10 - 15 (for children, I cut sausages in half and make smaller buns)

Ingredients

  • SAUCE AND VEGGIES
  • 2 jars favorite pasta sauce
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oregano, dried
  • 1 tablespoon basil, dried
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • MEAT
  • 10 large italian sausages (pre-cooked) (mild or hot to your tastes)
  • BREAD
  • 2 large long loaves of french or italian bread (can use buns too)
  • - cut a bit shorter that the sausages

How To Make 10 minute italian sausage sandwich !

  • Step 1
    Saute the onions and peppers in a TBS of olive oil, put inn a large pot, mix together all sauce ingredients into the pot. Bring to a boil, simmer 3 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Put the pre-cooked sausages into the skillet you did the veggies in. Brown the sausages, add 1/4 cup water and get drippings from the pan. Add it all to the sauce. Stir and get ready to serve!
  • Step 3
    Cut the bread to desired length, cut almoste through to make a bun to hold the sausage. Put one sausage and some sauce and veggies on the bun... serve!
