Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, cut into thin strips
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 small green bell peppers, cut into thin 1- inch strips
- 1 teaspoon basil, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4 large plum tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 - (6- inch) pita breads, split horizontally
- 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
How To Make halftime pita pizzas

Step 1Add oil to large skillet and heat to medium. Cook onion and garlic in skillet for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2Add pepper strips; cook 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally; stir in basil, thyme and red pepper flakes.

Step 3Layer tomatoes evenly over pita rounds; top with warm vegetable mixture. Sprinkle evenly with cheese.

Step 4Broil 5 to 6 inches from heat source 1 minute or just until cheese is melted.
