vodka sauce for pasta

This recipe is pretty simple to make and a crowd-pleaser. I generally pair it with grilled chicken, penne pasta, and broccoli. You can omit the vodka, cream, and parmesan and have a decent marinara sauce as well.

Ingredients For vodka sauce for pasta

  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 1-2 clove
    minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 15 oz
    canned tomato sauce or crushed tomatos
  • 1/4 c
    vodka
  • 1-1.5 pt
    heavy cream
  • 3 Tbsp
    parmesan cheese
  • 4 tsp
    fresh basil (to taste really)
  • 1 lb
    pasta of choice

How To Make vodka sauce for pasta

  • 1
    Melt butter, saute garlic and pepper flakes for 1 minute
  • 2
    Add tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes) and vodka, simmer for 15 minutes, then remove from heat -- (start boiling water for your pasta)

    Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and basil. Return to heat and cook another 15 minutes (or until your pasta is done cooking)
