vermicelli, uncooked
2 Tbsp
1/3 c
grated parmesan cheese
eggs, well beaten
1 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
chopped onion
1/4 c
chopped green bell pepper
8 oz
stewed tomatoes
6 oz
tomato paste
3/4 tsp
1/2 tsp
garlic salt
1 c
cottage cheese, creamed
1/2 c
shredded mozzarella cheese
8-12 slice

How to Make Vermicelli Pie


  • 1Cook vermicelli according to package directions; drain.
  • 2Stir butter and parmesan cheese into hot vermicelli.
  • 3Add eggs, stirring well.
  • 4Spoon into a greased 10-inch pie plate.
  • 5Use a spoon to shape noodles into a pie shell.
  • 6Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for 9 minutes or until set.
  • 7Combine beef, onion and green pepper in a large skillet.
  • 8Cook over medium heat until meat is browned, stirring to crumble; drain well.
  • 9Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste and seasonings.
  • 10Cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 11Spread cottage cheese evenly over pie shell.
  • 12Top with meat sauce.
  • 13Cover with foil, and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes; sprinkle with mozzarella, and top with pepperoni.
  • 14Bake, uncovered, about 5 minutes.
  • 15Let stand servings.
