The consomme' makes this a rich sauce even without meat. I love this on pasta and vegetables especially green beans.

How to Make Trumaan's Spaghetti Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Put the bacon, green pepper, onion and garlic in a heavy skillet or saucepan and cook until the onion is golden.
  2. Add meat, if desired, and brown it.
  3. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Like most tomato sauces it is even better the next day but is good after the 20 minute simmer too. Add water if it gets too thick.
