The consomme' makes this a rich sauce even without meat. I love this on pasta and vegetables especially green beans.

Ingredients

    slices bacon
  • 1/2
    green pepper,chopped
  • 1 or 2
    onions, chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, split
  • 1/2-1 lb
    ground beef or chopped, cooked leftover meat
  • 2 can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 1 can(s)
    beef consomme'
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated parmesan or romano cheese
  • ·
    salt, pepper and oregano to taste

How to Make Trumaan's Spaghetti Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Put the bacon,green pepper,onion and garlic in a heavy skillet or saucepan and cook until the onion is golden.
  2. Add meat, if desired, and brown it.
  3. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Like most tomato sauces it is even better the next day but is good after the 20 minute simmer too. Add water if it gets too thick.
