Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 pound prosciutto, chopped
  • 16 ounces can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
  • 10 3/4 ounces can tomato puree
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated romano cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried whole oregano
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup marsala wine
  • 2 packages fresh cheese or meat-filled tortellini (8 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup grated romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

How To Make tortellini con prosciutto

  • Step 1
    Saute garlic in olive oil and 1 tablespoon melted butter in a large saucepan until golden brown. Add prosciutto and the next 6 ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Step 2
    Reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Add the wine, and cook 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain; place in a bowl. Add 1/4 cup Romano cheese and 1 tablespoon butter; toss.
  • Step 4
    Pour the prosciutto mixture over the tortellini; toss. Sprinkle with parsley.
