Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound small shell pasta
  • 1 cup fresh shelled peas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, minced
  • salt and pepper

How To Make sweet peas and shells alfredo

  • Step 1
    Bring a pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook for about 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Throw in the peas and cook 5 more minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  • Step 3
    Dry out the pot and add the cream. Bring to a simmer and let reduce for about 5 minutes. Add the butter and let it melt, then add the lemon zest.
  • Step 4
    Add the Parmesan cheese and the pasta with peas. Add a little pasta water if the sauce is too dry.
  • Step 5
    Taste and season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley.
