Ingredients
- 12 ounces jumbo pasta shells
- 3/4 pound lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can diced tomatoes (29 oz)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 16 ounces cottage cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon minced garlic
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
How To Make stuffed shells

Step 1Cook shell pasta in a large pot with boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.

Step 2In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onions. Drain off the grease.

Step 3In a large bowl, add the chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, and cottage cheese; stir well.

Step 4Add the basil, oregano, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.

Step 5In the bottom of a 2-quart baking dish, cover with a half cup of the tomato sauce mixture.

Step 6Stuff the shells with the beef mixture. Place side by side in a baking dish.

Step 7Cover the stuffed shells with the remaining tomato sauce and top with mozzarella cheese.

Step 8Cover with aluminum foil.

Step 9Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 1 hour.

Step 10Allow to stand for 15 minutes and serve.
