This recipe was given to me by a friend, Linda T. Wanted to share this one.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburg
  • 1 - large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 - egg
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 18 - giant shells
  • 1 jar large spaghetti sauce or your own
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

How To Make stuffed shells -

  • Step 1
    Brown hamburg in skillet. Salt and pepper to taste. Drain, add onion and garlic. Cook about 3 minutes. Stir in mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs, parsley and egg. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Cook shells in boiling salted water until aalmost tender. Drain and run under cold water so they will be easier to stuff. Use meat mixture to stuff shells
  • Step 3
    Pour a layer of sauce over bottom of 9x13x2 pan. Place shells on top of sauce side by side in a single layer. Mix wine with remaining sauce (optional) and pour over shells. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Note: can add or remove ingredients per your families preferences. ENJOY
