Ingredients

1 lb
hamburg
1
large onion, chopped
1 clove
garlic, chopped
8 oz
mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 c
italian bread crumbs
1/4 c
chopped parsley
1
egg
salt and pepper to taste
18
giant shells
1 jar(s)
large spaghetti sauce or your own
1/3 c
dry red wine (optional)
1/2 c
grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Stuffed Shells -

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown hamburg in skillet. Salt and pepper to taste. Drain, add onion and garlic. Cook about 3 minutes. Stir in mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs, parsley and egg. Remove from heat.
  • 2Cook shells in boiling salted water until aalmost tender. Drain and run under cold water so they will be easier to stuff.

    Use meat mixture to stuff shells
  • 3Pour a layer of sauce over bottom of 9x13x2 pan.
    Place shells on top of sauce side by side in a single layer. Mix wine with remaining sauce (optional) and pour over shells.
    Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

    Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
  • 4Note: can add or remove ingredients per your families preferences.
