I have been making this for more years than I can remember and it is always loved! Even picky kids enjoy it! Nothing beats a fast, one pan meal that is delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces wagon wheel pasta, or other small pasta shape
  • 1 package ranch seasoning mix
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces shredded cheese blend for mac n' cheese

How To Make stove top hamburger mac casserole

  • Step 1
    If you can't find preshredded mac n' cheese blend, then substitute 1 cup shredded cheddar and 1 cup shredded velveeta.
  • Step 2
    In a large deep skillet cook ground beef, onion, seasoning salt, and black pepper until beef is cooked through, stirring to break up meat.
  • Step 3
    Add pasta, broth, and ranch seasoning mix. Bring to a boil, cover, cook over medium heat for 8 minutes stirring after 4 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat and add sour cream and cheese. Stir well. Serve immediately and enjoy!
