This new macaroni and cheese recipe is gonna be a spicy one, filled with jalapenos and pepperjack cheese and topped with a spicy bread crumb topping.

Ingredients
- 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes, divided
- 16 ounces dry elbow macaroni
- 1 tablespoon creole seasoning
- 2 teaspoons avocado oil
- 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- 4 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced
- 5 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
- 1 medium red onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces pepperjack cheese, shredded and divided
- 8 ounces white American cheese, shredded and divided
- 1 tablespoon sea salt mixed with black pepper
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
How To Make spicy macaroni and cheese

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Coat a 3-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add crumbled bacon, grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes; mix well.

Step 3Cook the macaroni according to package directions; drain. Season with creole seasoning and mix well.

Step 4Heat the avocado oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the panko bread crumbs, chili powder and 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes. Cook and stir for 3 minutes until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5Heat margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add diced jalapenos, sliced pepperoncini peppers, and chopped red onion; cook, while stirring, about 2 minutes until very fragrant.

Step 6Add flour to the veggie mixture and cook while stirring for 1 minute.

Step 7Slowly add the heavy cream and milk to the veggie mixture while whisking and continue to cook and whisk until no lumps remain and the sauce is thickened.

Step 8Add the cream cheese cubes into the sauce mixture and cook, stirring, until melted.

Step 9Add 1 cup shredded pepperjack and white American cheese to the sauce mixture and cook, while stirring, for 5 minutes until melted.

Step 10Add the sea salt/black pepper and cumin to the sauce mixture and stir well for 3 minutes until combined.

Step 11In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked macaroni, prepared cheese sauce and remaining crushed red pepper flakes. Mix together until combined.

Step 12Pour into a prepared baking dish evenly.Sprinkle with remaining shredded pepperjack and white american cheese and toasted bread crumbs.

Step 13Bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted. Cool for 10 minutes.
