Ingredients
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 2 - garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cans tomato sauce, 8 ounces
- 1 can mushrooms, stems and pieces
- 1/2 cup green pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup snipped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1/8 teaspoon oregano
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1 package spaghetti
- - parmesan cheese, grated
- MEATBALL INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup dry red wine
- 1 - egg
- 1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
How To Make spaghetti with meatballs

Step 1SPAGHETTI: Heat oil in dutch oven.

Step 2Cook and stir onion and garlic in hot oil until onion is tender.

Step 3Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms (with liquid), green pepper, parsley, salt, pepper, sugar, basil and oregano.

Step 4Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

Step 5Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 1 hour.

Step 6Stir in wine.

Step 7Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.

Step 8Uncover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes longer.

Step 9While sauce is simmering, prepare meatballs.

Step 10While meatballs are cooking, cook spaghetti as directed on package; drain but do not rinse.

Step 11Spoon meatballs onto spaghetti; cover with sauce.

Step 12Serve with cheese.

Step 13MEATBALLS: Mix all ingredients except oil.

Step 14Shape by rounded tablespoonfuls into balls.

Step 15Heat oil in 10-inch skillet.

Step 16Cook meatballs in hot oil until done, about 20 minutes.
