Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 - garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 3 cans tomato sauce, 8 ounces
- 1 can mushrooms, stems and pieces
- 1/2 cup green pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup snipped fresh parsley
- 2.5 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1/8 teaspoon oregano
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1 package spaghetti
- - parmesan cheese, grated
How To Make spaghetti with meat sauce

Step 1Heat oil in dutch oven.

Step 2Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in hot oil until beef is light brown; drain off fat.

Step 3Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms (with liquid), green pepper, parsley, salt, pepper, sugar, basil and oregano.

Step 4Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

Step 5Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 1 hour.

Step 6Stir in wine.

Step 7Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.

Step 8Uncover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes longer.

Step 9While sauce is simmering, cook spaghetti as directed on package; drain but do not rinse.

Step 10Pour meat sauce over hot spaghetti.

Step 11Serve with cheese.
