spaghetti bake - cassie's

My family loves when I make this. I throw in whatever I have at the time...this time it was ricotta cheese..tasted great..I normally add pepperoni to this also, but was fresh out...have also used Italian sausage. This is one of those dishes that tastes even better the next day. This casserole also freezes well..I hope you give it a try.. My Photo's

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti, cooked following box directions, drain
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, i used lean
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - ( 24 ounces ) tomato sauce
  • 2 - ( 14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes and juice
  • 1 - ( 15 ounce ) ricotta cheese
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced - i used 2 jalapeno's
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes ( optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 3/4 cup shredded, cheese - whatever you prefer

How To Make spaghetti bake - cassie's

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F.. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, cook beef, onion, garlic, peppers over medium heat until meat is no long pink; drain.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl add the meat, sauces, tomatoes, spices, and ricotta cheese; stir well.
  • Step 4
    Stir in the cooked pasta.
  • Step 5
    Transfer to the baking dish, cover and bake 35 - 40 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Uncover, sprinkle with cheese. Bake another 5 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
