  • 1 large
    onion -- chopped
  • 1 large
    bell pepper -- chopped
  • 2 tsp
    garlic -- minced
  • 2 (4 oz) can(s)
    mushrooms -- drained
  • 1 can(s)
  • 1 jar(s)
    ragu spaghetti sauce
  • 1 c
    tomato juice
  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 lb
    ground sausage
  • 1 medium
    bag of elbow noodles

How to Make Southern Goulash


  1. Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions.
  2. Saute the hamburger meat/saugage, onion, bell pepper, garlic, mushrooms in a skillet until the meat is brown.
  3. Drain the fat off. Add Ragu and Rotel to the meat. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 min.
  4. In a large pot, combine the noodles & meat mixture. Allow this to simmer for about 20 minutes. You may need a cup of tomato juice if it's too dry.
