1Reserve 4 slices bacon, Fry remainder til very crisp and then crumble. In large pan, mix crumbled bacon, desired amount of bacon drippings, and all other ingredients except vermicelli. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally til celery becomes soft.
2Cook vermicelli about 7 minutes and drain. Place in two 2 quart baking dishes, pour tomato mixture over top, and mix thoroughly. Lay 2 slices reserved bacon on top of each baking dish and broil til bacon curls. Watch carefully to prevent scorching. Serves 10 to 12.
