sherry's lasagna
There are zillions of lasagna recipes out there and I think I've tried most of them. But, I keep coming back to this one as the best. It was given to me many, many years ago by a dear next door neighbor.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can 28 oz whole tomatoes with juice
- 1 can 12 oz tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano, dried
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
- 12 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 12 ounces lasagna noodles cooked/drained
- 1 teaspoon basil, dried
How To Make sherry's lasagna

Step 1Saute meat, drain. Add tomatoes (breaking up), tomato paste, garlic salt, oregano and basil. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

Step 2Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3In mixing bowl, stir together the cottage cheese and half of the grated parmesan cheese.

Step 4Set aside 1/2 cup of the meat sauce and 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese.

Step 5In ungreased baking pan, alternate layers of pasta, meat sauce, mozzarela cheese and cottage cheese mixture.

Step 6Spread the reserved meat over the top. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese and the 1/2 cup of mozzarela.

Step 7Bake, uncovered for 45 minutes, then let stand for 15 minutes. Enjoy.
