Ingredients
- 8 ounces dried spaghetti, fusilli or linguine
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon plum sauce
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili paste (optional)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup red and/or green sweet pepper cut into bite size pieces
- 1 cup fresh green beans, cut into 1" pieces or 1 cup pea pods trimmed
- 12 ounces fresh or thawed, frozen peeled and deveined large shrimp
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 - finely chopped green onions
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
How To Make shanghai pasta

Step 1Cook pasta according to package directions, drain. Meanwhile, for sauce, in a small bowl stir together soy sauce, plum sauce, sesame oil and if desired chili paste; set aside.

Step 2Pour vegetable oil into a wok or large skillet, heat wok over medium-high heat. (Add more vegetable oil as necessary during cooking). Add sweet peppers and green beans cook and stir for 5 minutes. Push from the center of the wok. Add shrimp, garlic, ginger and black pepper into the center of the wok.

Step 3Cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp are opaque. Stir in sauce and pea pods (if using). Stir in cooked pasta; heat through. Sprinkle each serving with green onions and sesame seeds.
