This is a seafood version of the more traditional turkey tetrazzini. Not as budget-friendly, but delicious!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces package thin spaghetti, broken
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, unpeeled
  • 6 ounces jar sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (6 ounces)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound lobster meat, cooked, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 pound fresh crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

How To Make seafood tetrazzini

  • Step 1
    Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Drain well and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Bring the water to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain well; rinse with cold water. Chill. Peel and devein shrimp. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Drain the sliced mushrooms, reserving the liquid. Set the mushrooms and liquid aside.
  • Step 4
    Saute the onion and green pepper in melted butter in a Dutch oven until tender. Add the reserved mushrooms, flour, salt, and pepper; cook one minute, stirring constantly.
  • Step 5
    Gradually add the reserved mushroom liquid and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  • Step 6
    Add the cheddar cheese and the next three ingredients; stir until the cheese melts.
  • Step 7
    Add the reserved spaghetti, lobster, crabmeat, and reserved shrimp; cook over low heat until thoroughly heated.
  • Step 8
    Pour the mixture into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese; broil 6 inches from heat for 3 minutes or until lightly browned.
