Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1 bottle merlot red wine
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus more for serving
- 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped
- - salt and pepper
How To Make red wine spaghetti

Step 1Measure 1/4 cup of wine and set aside. Combine the water and the remaining wine in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente about 15 minutes.

Step 2Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water. Drain the pasta .

Step 3In a large skillet add the olive oil. Add the garlic and saute 30 seconds. Add the reserved pasta water and reserved wine to the pan.

Step 4Add the spaghetti to the skillet and then the butter. Cook until butter is melted. Add the Parmesan, and basil. When the Parmesan is melted taste and adjust for salt.

Step 5Serve with more Parmesan
