My mother made this often when she had a busy day at work. It is simply delicious and satisfying especially on a cool evening.

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes instant macaroni and cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 cans tuna, packed in water
  • 2 cans peas
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese

How To Make range top tuna cassarole

  • Step 1
    In Large sauce pan,follow directions for boiling Macaroni. Drain water and return to stove. Add milk, cheese packets, and butter/margarine, mix on low heat until butter has melted.
  • Step 2
    Open and drain tuna, add tuna to pan.
  • Step 3
    Open, drain, and add peas to pan.
  • Step 4
    Mix in Cream of mushroom soup and sour cream into macaroni/cheese and peas. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 5
    Heat until hot, stir often.
  • Step 6
    Grate cheese onto top of pan, cover.
  • Step 7
    Turn off heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Serve.
