I got this recipe from a fellow employee of Hardwick Stove Company, back in 1980. It's super easy and I love that it makes enough to freeze half for later.

Ingredients

1 1/4 c
macaroni, uncooked
1 lb
ground beef
3 medium
onions, chopped fine
1 Tbsp
shortening
2 can(s)
tomato sauce, 8 oz. each
1 can(s)
chili beans
1 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
black pepper
1/2 tsp
chili powder
1 c
cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make POTLUCK CASSEROLE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook and drain macaroni.
  • 2Brown beef and onions in shortening; drain.
  • 3Add tomato sauce; cook gently 15 minutes.
  • 4Add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Mix well.
  • 5Pour into 1 large or 2 medium casserole dishes; sprinkle with cheese.
  • 6Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
  • 7This recipe can be halved OR make 2 medium casseroles and freeze one for later.
