potluck casserole

I got this recipe from a fellow employee of Hardwick Stove Company, back in 1980. It's super easy and I love that it makes enough to freeze half for later.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups macaroni, uncooked
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 medium onions, chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 2 cans tomato sauce, 8 oz. each
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
How To Make potluck casserole

Step 1Cook and drain macaroni.

Step 2Brown beef and onions in shortening; drain.

Step 3Add tomato sauce; cook gently 15 minutes.

Step 4Add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Mix well.

Step 5Pour into 1 large or 2 medium casserole dishes; sprinkle with cheese.

Step 6Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.

Step 7This recipe can be halved OR make 2 medium casseroles and freeze one for later.
