Ingredients

  • 4 ounces prociutto ham, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes - drained, reserve juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup vodka
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, or 1 tablespoon dried
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound penne
  • 1 cup romano cheese

How To Make penne a la vodka

  • Step 1
    Combine the first 8 ingredients and cook until short of a boil. Reduce heat to simmer.
  • Step 2
    Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and add the cooked sauce.
  • Step 3
    Top with romano cheese or have it to pass around the table.
