peg's spaghetti & meatballs

This is a recipe I created by merging ingredients from other to make the right combination that suits our family.

Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz.) sliced stewed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1-2 - bay leaves
  • - add water to desired consistency
  • MEATBALLS
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 cup crushed onion/garlic croutons
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make peg's spaghetti & meatballs

  • Step 1
    Mix sauce ingredients together in large pot and cook for at least 2 hours.
  • Step 2
    Mix meatball ingredients together. Place foil on a large cookie sheet and spray with cooking spray. Form meatballs and place on cookie sheet. Bake in a 375º until done. Add to sauce and continue to simmer. Remove bay leaves before serving.
  • Step 3
    NOTE: Three jars of spaghetti sauce can be substituted for the sauce ingredients.
