Now I at first did not like pesto because I thought it was pretty icky, lol, but I went to get me a salad at the Whole Foods store and they had this bowtie pasta with pesto and fell in love with it. You can use any kind you like.

Ingredients

  • - salt
  • 1 pound dried tagliatelle
  • - fresh basil sprigs
  • PESTO
  • 2 - garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (scant)
  • - sea salt
  • 4 ounces fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

How To Make pasta with pesto

  • Step 1
To make the pesto, place the garlic, pine nuts and a large pinch of sea salt in a blender or food processor and process briefly. Add the basil leaves and process to a paste.
  • Step 2
With the motor running, gradually add the oil. Scrape into a bowl and beat in the cheese. Season to taste with salt.
  • Step 3
Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta, return to a boil, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until tender but still firm to the bite. Drain well, return to the pan and toss with half of pesto, then divide between warmed serving plates and top with the remaining pesto. Garnish with basil sprigs and serve.
