Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice cooked in boiling salted water and drained
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup parmigiano- reggiano shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • salt and pepper
  • shaved parmigiano reggiano for serving

How To Make pasta with creamy buttered pea & cheese sauce

  • Step 1
    Add the butter to a pan big enough to hold the pasta. Cook the peas for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour 2/3 cup of heavy cream and bring to a boil and let cook for 3 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add the pasta to the pan and cook 3 minutes. Add the remaining cream and cheese. Cook until cheese melts. Add the nutmeg and taste and season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Serve garnished with shaved Parmesan
