Ingredients
- 1 pound fettuccine pasta
- 3 tablespoons cold butter, cut into 6 pieces
- 3 large eggs
- 0 - salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- - fresh basil for garnish
How To Make pasta with butter egg sauce

Step 1Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add salt to taste like the ocean. Add the fettuccine and cook until al dente, about 15 minutes. Drain the pasta.

Step 2Add the pasta back to the pan and place over low heat. Add the seasoning and taste. Add the butter, 3 pieces at a time, and let it melt.

Step 3Then remove from the heat and add the eggs, stirring vigorously to coat the pasta. Add the Parmesan and keep stirring.

Step 4Place the pasta in bowls and garnish with basil and more Parmesan if desired.
