onions, chopped

tomatoes, 28 ounces
3/4 c
chopped green pepper
1/2 c
water
1 can(s)
mushrooms, stems and pieces, 4 ounces
2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sugar
1 tsp
chili powder
1 pkg
thin spaghetti, 7 ounces
1 c
shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make One-Skillet Spaghetti

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook and stir meat and onions in large skillet or dutch oven until meat is brown.
  • 2Drain off fat.
  • 3Stir in tomatoes (with liquid) and remaining ingredients except cheddar cheese; break up tomatoes.
  • 4TO COOK IN SKILLET: Heat mixture to boiling.
  • 5Reduce heat; cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender, about 30 minutes.
  • 6(A small amount of water can be added if necessary.)
  • 7Sprinkle with cheese.
  • 8Cover and heat until cheese is melted.
  • 9TO COOK IN OVEN: Pour mixture into ungreased 2 or 2 1/2-quart casserole.
  • 10Cover and bake in 375 oven, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender, about 45 minutes.
  • 11Uncover; sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bake about 5 minutes.
