One-Skillet Spaghetti

1 oz
ground beef
2 medium
onions, chopped
1 can(s)
tomatoes, 28 ounces
3/4 c
chopped green pepper
1/2 c
1 can(s)
mushrooms, stems and pieces, 4 ounces
2 tsp
1 tsp
1 tsp
chili powder
1 pkg
thin spaghetti, 7 ounces
1 c
shredded cheddar cheese


1Cook and stir meat and onions in large skillet or dutch oven until meat is brown.
2Drain off fat.
3Stir in tomatoes (with liquid) and remaining ingredients except cheddar cheese; break up tomatoes.
4TO COOK IN SKILLET: Heat mixture to boiling.
5Reduce heat; cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender, about 30 minutes.
6(A small amount of water can be added if necessary.)
7Sprinkle with cheese.
8Cover and heat until cheese is melted.
9TO COOK IN OVEN: Pour mixture into ungreased 2 or 2 1/2-quart casserole.
10Cover and bake in 375 oven, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender, about 45 minutes.
11Uncover; sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bake about 5 minutes.
