My family loves the pasta and sausage. I love the clean-up. I use the same pot to cook the pasta, cook the sausage and to make the sauce.

pasta of choice
1 lb
italian sausage links
2 can(s)
tomatoes diced (28oz.)
1 can(s)
tomato paste
onion, diced
2 Tbsp
olive oil
1 Tbsp
italian seasoning
2 tsp
1/2 tsp
black pepper
1 pinch
red pepper flakes
1 c
freshly grated cheese
3 c
water, divided

How to Make One Pot Pasta


  • 1Cook pasta al dente, drain and set aside.
  • 2In the same pan, brown and cook sausage using 1 cup water. (Simmer 30 mins.) Remove from pan. Cut sausage links into 2-3inch pieces.
  • 3Using the same pan, saute onions in olive oil until soft. Add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 4Add diced tomatoes, 2 cups water, and seasonings. Cook for 30 minutes.
  • 5Place pasta in large serving bowl. Add half the sauce to the pasta and top with the cooked sausage.
  • 6Serve with grated cheese and the remainder of the sauce.
