One Dish Macaroni Beef

My mom got this recipe from a microwave cooking cookbook back in the '70s. This was one of my favorites as a kid. I make it for my kids and they love it just as much as I did/do!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 small
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 c
    uncooked macaroni
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato sauce, 8oz
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    ketchup
  • 1 can(s)
    kernel corn, 7oz, undrained
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    chili powder

How to Make One Dish Macaroni Beef

Step-by-Step

  1. Crumble ground beef in 2 quart glass casserole and stir in onion.
  2. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes.
  3. Drain and stir in remaining ingredients. Recover.
  4. Microwave on defrost for 30-35 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
  5. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, and enjoy!
