one dish macaroni beef

My mom got this recipe from a microwave cooking cookbook back in the '70s. This was one of my favorites as a kid. I make it for my kids and they love it just as much as I did/do!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni
  • 1 can tomato sauce, 8oz
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 can kernel corn, 7oz, undrained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

How To Make one dish macaroni beef

  • Step 1
    Crumble ground beef in 2 quart glass casserole and stir in onion.
  • Step 2
    Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Drain and stir in remaining ingredients. Recover.
  • Step 4
    Microwave on defrost for 30-35 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, and enjoy!
