Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions or onions
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons burgundy or other red wine
  • 1 can beef consomme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 ounces medium egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • snipped fresh parsley

How To Make noodle stroganoff

  • Step 1
    In hot butter in skillet, saute scallions, garlic and mushrooms until lightly browned.
  • Step 2
    Add beef; cook, stirring, until red color disappears.
  • Step 3
    Stir in lemon juice, burgundy, consomme, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Stir in uncooked noodles.
  • Step 6
    Cook, covered, 5 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
  • Step 7
    Mix in sour cream; heat quickly but do not boil.
  • Step 8
    Serve at once, sprinkled with parsley.
