i created a new macaroni salad recipe,it's a style of new orleans.It's great with a side of fried chicken thighs.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dry elbow macaroni
  • 3 tablespoons creole seasoning,divided
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups whole milk,divided
  • 2 cups mayonnaise,divided
  • 3/4 cup creole mustard
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 medium red bell pepper,seeded and chopped
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper,seeded and chopped
  • 1 large carrot,peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon sweet and tangy seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

How To Make new orleans macaroni salad

  • Step 1
    In a large pot,bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.
  • Step 2
    Add elbow macaroni and 2 tablespoons creole seasoning.Boil 10 minutes or until the macaroni are very soft;drain.
  • Step 3
    Return macaroni to the pot.Add apple cider vinegar and toss well until absorbed.Let cool for 15 minutes.After that,Transfer to a large bowl and set aside.
  • Step 4
    In a medium bowl,combine 1 cup milk,1 cup mayonaisse,creole mustard,brown sugar,onion soup mix and creole seasoning;whisk together for 3 minutes or until blended.
  • Step 5
    Pour over the macaroni mixture and mix well.
  • Step 6
    Once the macaroni mixture are cooled,add remaining milk and mayonaisse, chopped red and yellow bell peppers,grated carrot,sweet and tangy seasoning and ground black pepper.
  • Step 7
    Stir together for 5 minutes to combine.Refrigerate for overnight.
