I really have no idea where my Mom got this recipe, I am just thankful she found it. My youngest daughter asks for this for her birthday(or anytime she is home)every year! It makes a ton of spaghetti and is even better the second and third day.

    medium onions, chopped
  • 1-1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil
  • 1
    large bell pepper, chopped
  • 2
    large cans sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 can(s)
    1 lb size, tomatoes
  • 1 lb
    cooked spaghetti
  • 1 lb
    grated cheddar cheese

How to Make My Mom's German Spaghetti


  1. Saute onions and bell pepper in oil. Add beef and cook until browned; drain. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper. Add tomatoes and mix well. Add the spaghetti and cheese. Improves flavor by holding in warm oven.
  2. This is even better the next day!
