  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion minced
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine port is good here
  • 1 can 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce

  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make my cheesy meatballs and homemade spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
For Meatballs Mix all ingredients together and shape into 1 inch balls. Set aside.
  • Step 2
Place the oil in a large skillet or pot. Saute onion and garlic until translucent. Pour in wine and let almost all evaporate. Add remaining ingredients except basil. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and simmer 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
Meanwhile sear the meatballs in batches in another skillet. When all are browned place the meatballs in the sauce to let them continue to cook. The sauce is done when the meatballs are no longer pink in middle. Stir in basil
  • Step 4
Cook spaghetti and serve sauce and meatballs on top sprinkled with parmesan cheese
