This is a very easy and versatile dish. You can substitute green and yellow squash for the peppers, or use canned red peppers. Be sure to drain the liquid and slice them. We basically made this up one day while trying to figure out what's for dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground sirloin
  • 2 cans 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, garlic and oil
  • 3 medium peppers,2 green, 1 red, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 pound cooked pasta, such as penne or linguine

How To Make moullinaise

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef in a 6 qt saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic, stir occasionally. Add sliced peppers and onions. Mix thoroughly. Add tomatoes and mushrooms. Add the sauce and simmer.
  • Step 2
    While simmering, stir in hot sauce and other seasonings to taste, salt and pepper, and garlic powder. Simmer until vegetables are tender. Serve over cooked pasta.
