The best tuna casserole I have ever had. I thought tuna casserole was always supposed to taste like this!

Ingredients

butter
2 Tbsp
fine chopped onion
2 Tbsp
flour
2 c
milk
2 1/2 Tbsp
soy sauce
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
2 can(s)
tuna
1/4 lb
cashew nuts
1 c
celery chopped
1
5 oz. can chow mein noodles
1/2 c
mayonaise
few drops of hot sauce
1 tsp
lemon rind, grated
1 1/2 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Mom's Tuna Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt butter, add onion and brown. add flour and cook for a couple minutes. Add milk slowly whisking until thickened. Add remaining ingredients. Except noodles. If more liquid is needed add chicken broth.
  • 2Turn into a 2 quart casserole dish. Bake 375* for 20-25 minutes. Top with chow mein noodles before serving.
