This was my Grandmother's or as we called her Mamae recipe made from scratch. It's great just the cheese but the meat is good too

  • 1 pkg
    jumbo elbow macroni
  • 1 1/2 c
    jack cheese diced
  • 1 1/12 c
    mild cheddar cheese diced
  • 2 c
    velvetta cheesediced
  • 1 can(s)
    large giced tomatoes
  • 1 c
  • 10 slice
    velvetta cheese to place on top of macroni
  • 2 c
    (optional ) of meat of your choice fully cooked

How to Make Mamae's Macroni and Cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly grease casserole I usally use PAM
  3. Cook macroni and drain
  4. Add the milk and tomatoes with macaroni and mix the cheese and if desired the meat of your choice
  5. Place slices of cheese on top of the mixture and bake until cheese on top is melted
