This one pot wonder has been a family favorite of ours for a long time! In the north east I have heard this is often referred to as "American Chop Suey". Whatever you name it, we call it delicious, simple, comfort food!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, extra lean
  • 1 medium onion, died
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, diced
  • 2- 14.5 oz cans tomatoes, diced
  • 1 8oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (more if you like it spicy!)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

How To Make macaroni goulash

  • Step 1
    Add onion, green pepper and ground beef to dutch oven on med/high until beef is browned. Add all of remaining ingredients. Simmer on med/low 15-20 minutes.
