macaroni & cheese (no velveeta please)

my fiance' and family love mac & cheese. I got so tired of paying $6-$8 for a block of velveeta that i learned to make this instead. It tastes better and it's less expensive.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter (no margarine)
- 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
- 4 cups milk, preheated
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound macaroni, cooked al dente
- 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese (yellow), shredded
- - bread crumbs
How To Make macaroni & cheese (no velveeta please)

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F.

Step 2Melt butter in a large saucepan, stir in flour until smooth.

Step 3Cook, stirring over low heat for 3 minutes.

Step 4Gradually whisk in hot milk until smooth and continue to cook until it boils.

Step 5Lower heat and cook until thick and smooth (about 10 minutes).

Step 6Season with mustard, salt and pepper.

Step 7In a greased (or cooking sprayed) casserole dish, combine pasta, 3 cups of cheese and sauce; mix well.

Step 8Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese and bread crumbs.

Step 9Bake for about 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
