Ingredients
- BROWN SUGAR CHICKEN
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 5 tablespoons dark brown sugar, divided
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons sweet and tangy seasoning
- 1 tablespoon sea salt mixed with black pepper
- MACARONI AND CHEESE
- 1 pound dry elbow macaroni
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 milk
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cubed processed American cheese
- 3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
How To Make macaroni and cheese with brown sugar chicken

Step 1To make the brown sugar chicken, melt the margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in 1 tablespoon brown sugar and cook until slightly caramelized, about 2 minutes.

Step 2Add the chicken breasts and season with sweet and tangy seasoning and sea salt/black pepper. Cook side by side for 15 minutes or until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear.

Step 3Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar over the chicken breasts and cook for 5 minutes until the brown sugar melts into the chicken breasts.

Step 4Remove the chicken breasts from the skillet to a cutting board. Slice into 1/2-inch strips. Transfer to a large plate and set aside.

Step 5Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat an 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 6Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

Step 7Heat the margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and garlic; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in heavy cream, milk, and Greek yogurt; bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly with a whisk.

Step 8Add shredded sharp cheddar, Monterey jack, Parmesan, and cubed American cheese; stir until cheeses melt. Remove from heat.

Step 9Add cooked macaroni and sliced brown sugar chicken breast. Stir together until combined.

Step 10Pour into an prepared baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with bread crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool completely for 10 minutes.
