Ingredients
- 1 bunch asparagus trimmed
- salt
- 12 ounces angel hair pasta
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- zest and juice of 3 large lemons
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup grated pecorino-romano
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley chopped
How To Make lemony pasta and asparagus

Step 1Place a large pot of water on stove and add enough salt to make it taste like the sea. Cook the asparagus 4 minutes then with tongs remove the asparagus and set aside. Cook the pasta in the same water then drain reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.

Step 2Place the olive oil in a large skillet. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook 1 minutes. Add the zest and juice of the 3 lemons and the pasta water. Stir in the butter until melted. Add the pasta and asparagus and stir until well blended. Add half the cheese and cook until cheese is melted. Taste and adjust for seasoning.

Step 3Serve topped with parsley and the rest of the grated cheese
