italian sausage, mild
4 c
spaghetti sauce
1 c
2 c
ricotta cheese
2 Tbsp
chives, fresh/chopped
1/2 tsp
dried oregano
8 oz
lasagna noodles
1 lb
mozzarella, slices
2 Tbsp
parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make Lazy-Day Overnight Lasagna


  • 1Brown sausage in large skillet; drain well.
  • 2Add spaghetti sauce and water.
  • 3Blend well.
  • 4Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 5In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chives, oregano and egg.
  • 6Mix well.
  • 7In bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish or lasagna pan, spread 1-1/2 cups of meat sauce.
  • 8Top with half of the noodles, half of the ricotta cheese mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  • 9Repeat with remaining noodles, ricotta cheese mixture and mozzarella cheese.
  • 10Top with remaining meat sauce.
  • 11Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  • 12Cover.
  • 13Refrigerate overnight.
  • 14Heat oven to 350 (Uncover baking dish. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until noodles are tender and casserole is bubbly.)
  • 15Cover.
  • 16Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
  • 17NOTE: Can easily substitute ground beef for sausage AND cottage cheese for ricotta.
