Ingredients
- 1 pound italian sausage, mild
- 4 cups spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 tablespoons chives, fresh/chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 - egg
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles
- 1 pound mozzarella, slices
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
How To Make lazy-day overnight lasagna

Step 1Brown sausage in large skillet; drain well.

Step 2Add spaghetti sauce and water.

Step 3Blend well.

Step 4Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 5In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chives, oregano and egg.

Step 6Mix well.

Step 7In bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish or lasagna pan, spread 1-1/2 cups of meat sauce.

Step 8Top with half of the noodles, half of the ricotta cheese mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese.

Step 9Repeat with remaining noodles, ricotta cheese mixture and mozzarella cheese.

Step 10Top with remaining meat sauce.

Step 11Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Step 12Cover.

Step 13Refrigerate overnight.

Step 14Heat oven to 350 (Uncover baking dish. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until noodles are tender and casserole is bubbly.)

Step 16Let stand 15 minutes before serving.

Step 17NOTE: Can easily substitute ground beef for sausage AND cottage cheese for ricotta.
