lasagna noodles, uncooked

bulk italian sausage

ground beef

onion, chopped
garlic cloves, minced

tomatoes, (28 ounces), cut up, drained

tomato paste

salt, divided
2 tsp
dried basil, crushed
2 tsp
fennel seeds
4 tsp

ricotta cheese
egg, beaten
1 Tbsp
parsley flakes
1 c
pitted ripe olives, sliced
3/4 c
grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Lasagna Deliciousa


  • 1Prepare lasagna according to package directions; drain.
  • 2Cook sausage, ground, beef, onion and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is no longer pink and onion is tender.
  • 3Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, 2 teaspoons of the salt, the basil, fennel seeds and pepper.
  • 4Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • 5Reduce heat to low.
  • 6Simmer, uncovered, for about 20 minutes.
  • 7In small bowl, blend ricotta, egg, parsley and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • 8Spoon 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce into 13x9 inch baking dish.
  • 9Layer 1/3 each of the lasagna, remaining meat sauce, ricotta mixture, olives, mozzarella and parmesan cheese into dish.
  • 10Repeat layers.
  • 11Cover with foil.
  • 12Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
  • 13Uncover.
  • 14Bake about 20 minutes more or until heated through.
  • 15Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
