A friend of mine gave me this recipe years ago, and every time I make it, I get raves about how good it is. I actually added the ricotta cheese portion; the original recipe is just for the mozzarella cheese with the sauce. I've had it both ways, and it's delicious either way!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (1/2 beef & 1/2 italian sausage)
- 1 large canned tomatoes (your choice)
- 1-12oz. can tomatoe paste
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 1/2 teaspoons each garlic & basil
- 3/4 cup onion
- - salt & pepper to taste
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 pound mozzarella
How To Make lasagna

Step 1Brown meat & onions. Add all but mozzarella and simmer for at least a half hour. (The longer the better)

Step 2MEANWHILE MIX::: 1 SM CARTON RICOTTA CHEESE 1 EGG 1/2 tsp. SALT 1/2 CUP PARMESAN CHEESE 2 TBLS. PARSLEY

Step 3Cook lasagna noodles (9) Layer noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, sauce: repeat ending with mozzarella

Step 4Bake @ 325* for 20-30 minutes.
