A friend of mine gave me this recipe years ago, and every time I make it, I get raves about how good it is. I actually added the ricotta cheese portion; the original recipe is just for the mozzarella cheese with the sauce. I've had it both ways, and it's delicious either way!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (1/2 beef & 1/2 italian sausage)
  • 1 large canned tomatoes (your choice)
  • 1-12oz. can tomatoe paste
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons each garlic & basil
  • 3/4 cup onion
  • - salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 pound mozzarella

How To Make lasagna

  • Step 1
    Brown meat & onions. Add all but mozzarella and simmer for at least a half hour. (The longer the better)
  • Step 2
    MEANWHILE MIX::: 1 SM CARTON RICOTTA CHEESE 1 EGG 1/2 tsp. SALT 1/2 CUP PARMESAN CHEESE 2 TBLS. PARSLEY
  • Step 3
    Cook lasagna noodles (9) Layer noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, sauce: repeat ending with mozzarella
  • Step 4
    Bake @ 325* for 20-30 minutes.
